Students will use measurement devices such as analogue meters, DC meters, analogue and digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators and power meters during practical session.
POWER ELECTRONICS course is
aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills related to power
electronic devices and its application in power conversion. This course also
will focus on the operational principle of rectifiers, choppers, inverters and
AC voltage controller circuits. Emphasis is given more on producing the output
voltage waveform of the converters.
STRENGTH OF MATERIALS provides knowledge on concepts and calculation of forces on materials, thermal stress, shear force and bending moment, bending stress, shear stress and torsion in shafts. It also deals with the experiments conducted on tensile test, bending moment, shearing force and torsion and deflection.
TOOL DESIGN exposes the
students to the knowledge of datum concept, geometric tolerances and
fundamentals to design tools based on clamping and locating principles. The
topics also cover the principle of tool applications in metal and non-metal
processes. All the topics discussed will enable the students to plan and identify
the use of tooling. They will also be exposed to the application of tooling in
MARKETING PLAN will provide students with an in depth understanding of marketing strategies. Students will be involved in a practical application of market
research via a group project which will focus on a real market situation. Students will come out with an innovative product idea and creating prototype. Students will be
responsible for presenting their findings in both written and oral form to their target clients.
MARKETING provides students with an initiating of marketing in the international environment. It
applies the significance of theoretical knowledge and skills of marketing mix strategies to the international
market. This course also focuses on global culture and behavior of international
DPM50123 Services Marketing covers the basic concept of services marketing, the nature of services, marketing mix for services, service encounter, service quality and productivity. Topics include characteristics of service products, consumer behavior in service settings, service quality and roles of technology in services.
DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP introduces how to develop creativity and innovation and managing risk in starting
up a digital business environment. This course will also guide the students on ways to
conduct a business using online marketing platform such as social media marketing, website, mobile marketing
and email marketing. This course also emphasis
on the development of e-business via ecommerce platform to reach a bigger market.
PRODUCT introduces students to new product development & brand management aspects. This course emphasis on product management & related decisions. It focuses on enhancing product value to ensure the products offered are competitive in the current challenging market.
